• Tathar's Duties

  This is mostly for anyone who works along with Tathar, so they have a general idea of what she does in the manor when I am not playing. Those in italics may be used by other manor workers to explain their absences during off hours, please just drop me a whisper if you mention one in particular in rp.
  
  Daily Tasks
  Cooks three meals a day, prepares refreshments on demand
  Washes dishes and clears the dining room after meals
  Eats meals with Lord Spellcarver, Jhaes, or other workers (conversation is polite and unmemorable)
  Studies books on the lord's exotics (nights)

  Makes a weekly meal plan each Sunday
  Cycles through airing out bedding in each of the rooms once a month (2+ each week)

    Dear Tathar don't put the title,
    
    Please share my regards with our Lord Spellcarver put the title and young Frederik. I understand through Jhaes that you are all doing well.
    
    Things progress here as well as they can; it's a steep adjustment for us back home. Tathok has seen fit to bless Haku and I with an immense ranch, farm, and orchard bearing fruits that are largely new to me but somewhat familiar to Haku, who finds it funny when I eat one improperly.
    
    The seeds I am enclosing are from something called a Jackfruit, and taste of chesnuts.
    
    Ikarus has fallen ill with a simple cold and we are keeping him at our new farmhouse until he recovers. The company is nice. While we've been able to bring two people up here to live with us, and get regular company, I am used to the sound of neighbors.
    
    Jhaes as you know is making his preparations for to travel to the homeland of the former Borentalon estate. He seems to be handling this concept well and seeks appropriate advise, as far as I can tell. He may have already mentioned that I have put him in touch with someone who may not only be of practical use to him, but physical protection, and he will be also traveling with Mr. Kishou.
    
    Captain Breathstealer put the title, who was left behind when the Manor departed, seems adrift and lonely, though I think there is little that I can do for him. He seems to be in good physical health, at least, which should be of good news Lord Spellcarver put the title.
    
    I managed to find someone to care for your gardens in town, though I haven't seen her in several days; I've been extremely busy so that is not a surprise. So far, they are still safe, though. I find myself needing to arrange the construction of a wheeled garden plow or two, which I think you would find fascinating. Some of the flowers that grow on the gourds especially here would be of interest to you, though I do not enclose as they are both fragile and sticky.

    Dear Illiandi,
    
    Lord Spellcarver sends his regards in turn, though young Lord Fredrick only smiled a little. We are all doing very well!
    
    I am glad, if you do not mind my saying so, that Miss Tathok has been so very kind, and I hope the farm is a very nice one. If you do not mind my saying so, Lord Loa should help you to eat the unfamiliar fruits. When I first started caring for Lord Spellcarver's gardens, he gave me several books on the subject. Thank you very much for the Jackfruit seeds. I have shared them with Lord Spellcarver and his son.
    
    Please tell Lord Ikarus that I hope very much he feels better soon! If you should need it, I will see to sending along some health tonic. Colds can be very unpleasant, I think. Who have you invited to live on the farm with you, if you do not mind my asking?
    
    If it pleases you, I should like for you to keep an eye on Jhaes, for he is very prone to fretting, if you do not mind my saying so, and not telling anyone. I am worried for him, going home, and relieved he plans to take someone with him.
    
    I will pass on your words of Captain Breathstealer to my lord, who will like to know of his current lifestyle, I am sure. I hope that he soon finds his place on the island, though I believe Lord Spellcarver's previous employers have work for him yet.
    
    If you should need any information on how to care for the gardens, I should be happy to provide it. I think the fairies, if their numbers continue to increase, should be of help there as well.
    
    During our time away we have seen large metal beasts that roll along tar paths, and have exchanged some gold for dollalas, which is the local currency, a green paper, it is most curious. Just last night Lord Spellcarver and I ate at a restaurant which served chicken flavored fried things and fried potatoes in slivers, and ground up meat in a small round called a hanberger, along with a very fizzy and sweet beverage. Lord Spellcarver did not enjoy the drink, but I found it most refreshing.
    
    Afterward he took me to the theater for the first time! It was most exciting, a giant building with food and many lights, and it seemed like there were dozens of rooms full of plays. Only the plays were done on a flat white fabric that turned colors to look like actors, and we wore very curious glasses to see them which made it seem as if things were flying toward us. I quite enjoyed the first play, but Lord Spellcarver did not, and so we saw another one which was much too violent for my tastes. It was very loud, though, and I felt like I had cotton in my ears afterward.
    
    I hope things continue to go well for you, Illiandi. If you should need any help or advice, Lord Spellcarver and I are always available!

    Dear Tathar,
    
    I have considered Lord Spellcarver's proposal at length and have several questions to put to him before going further in this endeavor.
    
    Mister Bondsmiller makes it known to me that it can take several generations for necromatic taint of the type found at Borentalon estate to fade from the land, and as I would rather not wait one hundred years to have clean land to live upon, I wonder if Lord Spellcarver will be providing aid in cleansing the land? I have a Mister Khaun, who is a shaman of some power, interested in aiding in the cleansing, and he requires only food and shelter to sustain him while he works.
    
    I believe, though I have not seen it myself, that the estate is also in a state of disrepair, and most likely lacking in furniture and those items which make a home. As I expect to be entertaining my family as well as friends upon occassion once the taint is cleaned from the estate I should like to know if I will be recieving any aid in the form of money or the work of skilled craftsmen to see to repairs and furnishing.
    
    As I was incapacitated upon leaving the estate last, I am also unsure if anything has been done to clean it of bodies, blood, and other messes left by Borentalon and her undead army. I assume that Lord Spellcarver took any remaining bodies of the slain undead, but if cleaning supplies are needed, I should be made aware of this, and would wish some sort of help in cleaning the house.
    
    I also wish to know what sort of portals will be in place to allow my safe travel between the estate and the Village of Nasmara, as well as what might be done to aid in the travel between the manor and the estate.
    
    You have my permission to share the information in this letter in its full form with Lord Spellcarver, and if he is able, please have him write me in response so that we may open a line of communication on this topic.

    Mister Maksa,
    
    Leave it to me to make such an offer and provide none of the important details. In regards to the shaman, if you are confident he is not a fraud, then I will pay for his services in full on completion of the job, as well as provide his food and lodge while performing his duties. The land, once cleansed, will be fertile. I will send you with the dispossesed Stone Golems that are no longer required on the north side of the island. They will till and guard your farmlands, but they lack free will, and will require direction.
    
    As for the question of money in resupplying the larder and furnishings of the house, you will have to travel and inspect your holdings, after which provide me with an estimate of funds required before I can approve the notion. All reasonable requests will be honored.
    
    Portals are another matter, and a tricky one. Lacking the magical expertise required there on the island, it will be a tall order to promise you a stable and accessable portal right now. I can't come there to do it myself, and Lord Silverus has been sent on vacation. I'll see what I can do, but for travel to inspect the land right now, you can secure that from Darious. He can perform the needed magic to get you there quickly, and bring you back, but that is a temporary solution at best. There are, as far as I know, no corpses remaining at Borentalon. Messes do remain, again any request for funds for supplies will be honored so long as they are reasonable.
    
    Please reply in time with any further questions, requests for clarification, or with estimates of needed funds. Don't worry for your safety, I'll be sending a letter to the Black Court authorizing the placement of an Adarkar Sentinal on the estate. This statue will move to protect it's master if it detects a threat. I would not leave you in the wild unguarded.

    Dear Tathar,
    
    I write to you in rather an upset, I am afraid. Your sudden leaving, along with my nephew and your husband has left me at loose ends. Our friend Mister Bondsmiller informs me that your decision to take a vacation was rather abrupt, and not completely of your own volition, though Lord Spellcarver did not seem too perturbed over the prospects. I do not (a blot of ink marks a spot where the man took too long to think) wish to burden you, but I do have some questions for this time while you are gone.
    
    It is my understanding that your current vacation may be indefinite, and while I am happy you may have this time to yourself with Lord Spellcarver and young Fredrick, if you are not within the village, I see little reason to stay, particularly as Mister Loa and Mister Ikarus have been given the exalted positions of Lords of Nasmara and will be answerable to as the rulers here. As this is the case, and I assume Lord Spellcarver's transcriptions may be accomplished elsewhere - should he still even wish them done - I believe I will be leaving the village as well. I wonder if your husband may suggest a place for me away from Nasmara, but if not, I am certain I may find somewhere to go, and some occupation to keep busy with.
    
    I miss our daily teas together in the manor already, and the sound of young Fredrick's laughter. I hope you will not think poorly of me for being almost envious of your family, dearest, and envious that your attentions are now solely for them. I hope you find a way in which to respond, and soon.

    Dear Jhaes,
    
    I am sorry to have distressed you! Lord Spellcarver said it could not be helped, and I was also a little distraught upon leaving so suddenly, but now I am quite happy if you do not mind my saying so. We are currently in a place that is very blue and waterfalls can be seen everywhere, and heated water and it is very, very pretty. Lord Spellcarver is quite enamored of the statues, and there is a magical box which sings on command! Mister Mcfluffytoes and Lord Fredrick have been enjoying quite a lot of time spent with the nanny, but I visited with them this morning and they seemed in a good mood when I left them after lunch.
    
    I spoke to my lord about your worries and he said that while he does not need to employ you any longer as a scribe, he believes you may provide a service to him in a different capacity. The estate owned by our creator has been sitting fallow since Lord Spellcarver's expedition there destroyed all of the evils within, and while the land still requires healing, it could do with a steward who does not mind the work involved with reviving it. Lord Spellcarver believes the energies which still permeate the lands there could be used to create a link between the manor and Kasuria once again, and from there a link to Nasmara as well, so that we may travel freely between the two. You would guard the paths and keep a resting place in the estate, and see to governing the lands attached as you saw fit.
    
    I should like to hear from you soon, Jhaes, if you have time to write. I do miss you.

    Lord Spellcarver the Darkhand,
    
    Mister Gwaihir Ingalon arrived today seeking a healer for his friend. Infected by a magical parasite, which is undetectable until the infection shows itself. It takes mental control of the infected, though whether as a hive mind or as individuals working together is unknown. The individual seeks out magical artifacts and often goes into a rage, alternating between a rational self and a parasite controlled person. They often say impolite things while under control. Mister Ingalon is fearful of bringing his friend to the island, and requests aid from one of our healers, in return for which he will pay us a sum of gold.
    
    If it pleases you, I should like a response soon, for we wish to see him gone on the next ship,

  • Mr. Morbax's Advice to Finding a Life Companion July 30th 2011, 3:54 pm

    It is a long and involved process, and if done right, you will find yourself with a companion for life.
    -Can rely on
    -Will exchange helping with helping
    -Make up for weaknesses
    -Very close partnership
    It is the most prized relationship among any living creature.
    
    Finding this person and claiming them does not also confer upon them the same immortality which I am in possession of because we will remain two separate beings.
    
    If I lose my companion, it will be sad, but the experience will have been worth it.
    
    The search for the right companion may feel hopeless. I may know them on first sight, or after a few meetings, or after many years of acquaintanceship.
    
    A companion will be someone who:
    -Will take me as I am
    -Will not try to force a change upon me
    -One I can trust
    -One I would sacrifice for (I would sacrifice for any living being?} and would sacrifice for me if it ensured survival
    -Creates a feeling of pulling in the chest, which makes you wish to move in their direction/stay at their side
    
    Many different loves - of home, friend, family, faction, city, government (what is my love for my lord? what was my love for Jhaes?)
    
    Do not settle until found most suitable companion (how can be sure?)
    
    How convince of compatibility? - Ensure not taken, spend time, do kind things for. Delicate procedure, when start to show interest, select good time to confess, and kiss (?! But this will lead to reproductive acts, my Lord has told me!)
    
    Where reproductive acts fit in? - Occur a length of time after finding partner, first few months are good/bad as ensure whether they are good companion. addition - some come together and perform reproductive acts within a week and have children a month later (it is a very short process!)
